Islamabad reminded me strongly of Canberra in Australia. Both cities are planned without any real centre. All in all there isn’t that much to do, but the Faisal Mosque is definitely worth a visit. According to an urban legend the CIA sent a couple of agents just before the mosque was finished to make sure that the four minarets aren’t in fact secret rocket launch platforms. Continue reading
