Islamabad reminded me strongly of Can­berra in Aus­tralia. Both cit­ies are planned without any real centre. All in all there isn’t that much to do, but the Faisal Mosque is def­in­itely worth a visit. Accord­ing to an urban legend the CIA sent a couple of agents just before the mosque was fin­ished to make sure that the four min­arets aren’t in fact secret rocket launch plat­forms.
