You can do your DM or IDC with a crappy school, but have a great instructor and it'll be worth it. There's a lot of fluctuation of staff in the industry, so things can change pretty quickly. Just check out lots of schools and talk to the instructor or course director who's actually doing your course. If you get along great, then you're already halfway there.
