Today I went to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This is basically for Sikhs what the Vatican would be for Catholics. The atmosphere in that temple is absolutely amazing. There are people bathing in the lake and worshipers praying on their knees, a kitchen that feeds anybody who is hungry no matter what nationality or religion and a dorm, where you can stay for free for up to three days.
That is truly a site. I love to find strange pictures like this around the web. We don’t get much cold action in Costa Rica:)
Hey, nice photo. Sorry a bit off topic but I posted a blog post in the TJ community area but the link doesn’t work. How do you link to posts in the community area? Thanks.
Just copy/paste the link over, I guess. You’ll have to make sure that your post has the right permissions, otherwise people will have to register to read it.
Glad you liked the picture, russ.
It’s not so strange over here, Marina :) It was awesome just wandering around in the temple. People would just come up to me and tell me something about the history and struggle of the Sikhs and their religion over the last few hundred years, wish me a nice day and then take off. No touts, no tour guides, no entrance fees, just nice people…
Sometimes I miss the genuinely good people. Central America still has a few, but when i visit US, I feel like even just asking for directions they person wants a tip in return.
Do you mean set the post access to public? That’s how I had it but the link still doesn’t resolve.

Really wanted to go there when I was in India but didn’t have the time. Love the picture, it’s one of those pictures that makes you wnt to go travel. Read some books about the Sikh religion while I was there and found it intriguing. Not too bad to get free food and a roof over your head either?
Oh, it’s worth checking Amritsar out and there’s the hilarious border ceremony as well, which is just great fun.
Very impressive. Guess will be more glittering in the sun when viewing with the own eyes. :)
